  Honestly, Fáma is not only the best restaurant I visited in my 2 weeks in Budapest, but one of the finest I've dined at anywhere. The food was delicious and beautifully presented–but without the nouvelle cuisine-esque fussiness of many Hungarian fine-dining establishments. I didn't think I liked Hungarian wines but we did the wine pairing and (thanks to the extremely knowledgeable and enthusiastic guidance of our waiter, Levente) I was delighted to discover that there are actually many I love. Added bonus: the decor was chic without being gaudy or ostentatious (another pitfall of some of the upscale restaurants in the city). I visited Fáma twice during my stay in Budapest. I will be certain to visit it again on my next visit.
